Another contributor to the JoeMyGod website said, "While financially I supported the Vote No, and was vocal to everyone and anyone who would listen, I have never considered being a violent radical extremist for our equal rights. But now I think maybe I should consider becoming one. Perhaps that is the only thing that will affect the change we so desperately need and deserve."

A contributor identifying himself as "Joe" said, "I swear, I'd murder people with my bare hands this morning."

On the "Queerty" website, "Stenar" asked, "Can someone in CA please go burn down the Mormon temples there, PLEASE. I mean seriously. DO IT."

"I'm going to give them something to be f---ing scared of. … I'm a radical who is now on a mission to make them all pay for what they've done," wrote "Jonathan."

On yet another site, "Americablog," "scottinsf" wrote, "Trust me. I've got a big list of names of mormons and catholics that were big supporters of Prop 8. … As far as mormons and catholics … I warn them to watch their backs."

"I hope they all rot in hell, those servants of a lying, corrupt devil! BAN RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALISM," wrote Angelo.

One contributor went so far as to threaten to take out his frustrations on his own family.

"You want me to come back to Idaho for Christmas? Oh wait, my partner and I can't share the same bed? We can't show any affection or any outward sign of our love for each other? Well sorry family ... no Uncle Adam and all his expensive gifts and delicious cooking for you. Your childrens' presents will now be donations in their name to the equal rights organization of my choosing. As will their and your birthday presents, wedding presents, graduation presents, and everything else I give going forward."  The writer continued, "Remember, I'm angry. And I'm strong from my years at the gym and really am ready to take my frustration out on someone or something."

If such bigoted hatred was done by a Christian fundamentalist they would already be in jail for hate crimes.   What you read above is hate and the inciting of crimes against people solely because they have a different opinion of what marriage is and express it.  A few short decades ago America and Canada were both considered Christian nations by outsiders and by the people within.   The vast majority of the populations of both countries attended a Christian church weekly that respected the Bible as the Word of God.   Catholics may have considered other writings in addition to the Bible as the Word of God but they still considered the Bible as the Word of God and a moral foundation for society.   My how far we have fallen. 

Locally my wife works with a lady who proudly declared this week that she hated Christians.   I have received emails this week from people who obviously want to eliminate biblical fundamentalists.   Some even think I am racist or a Church of God bigot.   They would have been surprised to find out if I was American I would have voted for a black, catholic man for president - Mr. Keyes.  He presented a constitutional perspective that the christian Fathers of America would have wholeheartedly agreed with.   He also would have supported those who believe the Bible is a moral foundation for the country.  I have many friends who are Catholic, Baptist, Mennonite, Pentecostal and all of them have the same moral viewpoint for daily life.   They have different liturgical practices and doctrines but moral values are very similar because they believe the 10 commandments of God and their intent.  The point of this though is that many Canadians who would never have expressed such bigoted religious hate towards people who wanted to promote good morals decades ago - NOW AGGRESSIVELY DO SO.

In addition, over 50% of Californians supported the concept that parents had no right to be notified of a child's abortion.  Thereby, the most important decision in a young childs life is allowed and encouraged to be conducted without the parents advice, support or even knowledge.   Obviously many people think the government is better suited to teach then they are OR they know the government will always encourage a liberal viewpoint and this way the government will override anyone with a conservative viewpoint.   They exact same people absolutely don't want the government to tell a liberal not to do something. 

Why is there such hatred and biblical ignorance in our country?

Hosea 4:6 "my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. "Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children."

God doesn't hear the prayers of those who willfully sin.  Whether it is the husband who batters his wife, the teen who keeps having sex or the rich who neglects the poor.  If they repent and turn from such action then God will come near and hear and assist.   Unfortunately many people hear that God answers prayers and pray to win the lottery and don't understand the humility and heart God wants because people are biblically illiterate like many of our leaders.   These illiterate leaders think they are enlightened and seek to eliminate those who do hear and understand the Word of God.   These people are biblically illiterate because we removed the bible from schools and we sinned by not personally teaching our children the Word of God.  

God told people what would happen on various Days of the Lord throughout history and it wasn't supposed to make God's children worry about the future.   It was to inform them why it was going to take place and that they would be rewarded for their faith.   It was also to encourage them to be brave and stop worrying about what man can do and GET BUSY doing what God would have you do.

Firstly, make sure you are submitting yourself humbly to God in prayer and repentance of sins while also praying for leaders and the sins of the nation.   Being humble before God is being a disciple of Jesus, being trained by the Word of God instead of ignoring parts of the Word of God you dont like and arrogantly talking back to Jesus.

Secondly, teach your children and grandchildren about God, His creation and his desire for us to value liberty and self-governance.   A self-governance that not only produces moral choices within them but was the way that even in a national perspective they were to assist the poor, fatherless, stranger, etc.   Teach them the beauty of God's laws and the ugliness of envy, jealousy, hatred and the like.   The government wants to discourage you from teaching your children but you are COMMANDED by God to do so.   (Deut 6:6-9;11:18-19)  Failing to do so is sin.   This means parents need to instruct their children daily, what they watch on tv, do on the internet and with games.   They also need to encourage proper education whether at home schools, private christian schools or if they are at public schools to be fully involved on what they are learning, pull them out of whatever classes that you deem to be inappropriate (schools, teachers and principals arrogantly think you need their permission instead of realising they are the parents servants), teach them why evolution is unscientific and at best,  just plain stupid, while teaching them to love real, observable science that God created for man to understand and know Him.   Teach them the Word of God.

Thirdly, as you apply the Word of God to your life and to your children's, you should see its good news in action contrasted with the evil of lawlessness (without God's laws - ie Abortion Rights are laws but they are lawlessness in the biblical context) and clearly demonstrate the ugliness of covetousness, jealousy, idolatry, lying, stealing, hatred, etc.    In so doing you take your study of God's Word and apply it in your life and teach others the good news as you are able and have opportunity.  

We are all consumers – consumers of products, information, services. I believe we can create a better and healthier culture if we use our consumer power wisely and with discernment. If you don't approve of the sleaze you see on TV, shut it off. There is plenty of moral and uplifting and redemptive entertainment programming available to Christians today. But you've got to make an effort to support that good stuff in the marketplace while denying any support to the purveyors of trash.
