Social Problems” is such an impersonal term for a WORLD full of hurt.

A social problem is … any condition or behavior that has negative consequences for large numbers of people and that is generally recognized as a condition or behavior that needs to be addressed.

Perhaps a less cryptic definition is to say … a social problem is … an issue within the society that makes it difficult for people to achieve their full potential. Poverty, unemployment, unequal opportunity, racism, and malnutrition are examples of social problems. So are substandard housing, employment discrimination, and child abuse and neglect.

Some social problems… are manageable and we can solve them!

Other social problems… are harder, but we can give people a hug and a supporting arm of comfort to help them know they are not alone as they battle and endure the problem

Extreme social problems… are seemingly impossible to solve as they loom over mankind.  They leave a path of pain and tears and devastation that seems hopeless.

Some social problems are helped by:

  • individuals battling,
  • families pulling together,
  • companies & communities pouring in resources,
  • Nations & governments making things a priority
  • churches & charities eager to help & to serve

But social problems are still with us … because we are still human, with our “human nature” getting in the way of lasting solutions.  It is “good” to:

  • educate ourselves & to seek to help with the pain & suffering of ourselves and others
  • support worthwhile efforts that effectively deal with social problems
  • benefit from prayer & scripture to gain wisdom in dealing with these issues
  • Seek & Trust God — And God’s Plan — that tells mankind about the ultimate solutions to ALL social problems … is in the Kingdom of God — When the All-wise, All-powerful, All-Loving God Rules and dwells with mankind!

Rev 21:3-5  And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.  And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
