When you shall see these things, know the end is near

As we wait patiently for the Second Coming of the Christ, the Holy Bible wants us to know and be conscious of some of the scenarios that will unfold in the latter days. “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation,” 2 Peter 3:3.

The omniscient God we follow knows that this is going to occur in the end time. Increasingly, we are going to be hearing from the sceptics or the scoffers, casting all kinds of negativity and doubt about the Second Coming. In other words, every time you hear the skepticisms know that the Christ is not far from establishing His world-ruling government on earth. Take comfort in the pessimism of the world at large; there are more than five billion people out there, the vast majority of humanity, who do not believe Jesus is coming back to establish His kingdom.

God is not slow or lost control of His universe as some portray Him to be. He’s very much in control because He’s a sovereign God who sees and knows everything. 1 John 3:20, “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Psalm 139 :1-4 says God knows when we sit or rise, understands our thoughts from far away, and knows every word before we speak it. In Psalm 139:7–12: There is no place, whether the highest heights or deepest darkness, where we can hide from His spirit or presence.

Interestingly, this is how it’s going to creep upon the scoffers.  “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2 Peter 3:8).

In another few days, God’s appointed time, the Feast of Trumpets, will be on September 12 (beginning the evening of September 11, two Sabbaths in one), and it reminds us of this certain event that will shatter the normal routine of everyday life for human beings. Matt. 24:30, “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

There’s nothing to stop His coming; no nuclear war, no change of government, no natural disaster, nothing! This is an ordained time that God will intervene in human affairs, bringing a well-deserved end to human history and establish a new divine order. Absolutely nothing can change that! Even if you don’t believe it, your belief cannot stop the Second Coming. Whether you like it or not, Jesus, the Christ, the only name under the whole heaven by which anyone can be saved, is coming. Be prepared!

Matt 24:30. “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh; 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”

For those whom God is calling, you cannot say you haven’t been warned! There are repeated warnings all over the Bible. Watch and pray, as you know not the hour of His return! May God grant you the wisdom to understand the urgency to His call.

Luke 21:34-36 “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
