The Chosen

The Church of God International is featuring “something new” on the CGI App.  “The Chosen” is a television drama based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth.  Its the first multi-season series about the life of Jesus, and season one was the top crowd-funded TV series or film project of all time!

The series … portrays Jesus “through the eyes of those who met him“.  It is exciting to “read” in scripture about the life & adventures of Jesus & his disciples — as we have proven & trust the authority of scripture, for establishing doctrine & the true account.

We live, however, in the TV or video generation where we can also learn & benefit from reenactments of the historical events of the Gospel accounts!  With video, we “see & hear” … and often this helps us picture & remember important events of scripture.

As far as I know, the CGI was not involved in any of the writing or production of The Chosen, but we are able to make available this resource as a wholesome alternative to “other things” that may appear on TV.  It is always “fun” to see if we can spot any Biblical inaccuracies when viewing such a drama — & I expect the series is NOT PERFECT in every detail – but it often reinforces our learning to experience these depictions.  The aspect I look forward to the most, is to see how the writers & director enhance our view of Jesus (and those around Him) via telling the Story through the eyes of people Jesus encounters.

Rotten Tomatoes scores The Chosen with a perfect score of 100% for the first season.  So … If you don’t yet have the Cgi App installed on your Apple or Android device … The Chosen may be just the motivator that you need (as the series is not available on our websites).
